Thursday 13 - Favorite Childhood Books

Since I am so busy...I am writing my Thursday 13 on Wednesday Night. It feels like cheating, but I couldn't miss another week. No list last week since I was gearing up for my big meeting. I have been stressed and when I am stressed I have a habit and I can't believe that I am going to reveal it. When I need to de-stress I watch cartoons. And when you watch cartoons it takes you back to when you were less stressed and carefree...I can't quite remember not being stressed...but I revert back despite it. As I was watching cartoons this weekend, I got to thinking about some of my favorite childhood books. Some of which I remember watching as cartoons...(cue Pierre and Alligators All Around)

My Thursday 13 this week is a quick list of some of my favorite childhood books or children's books...a few may have been written after I was considered a child. Don't Judge!!

1) Drummer Hoff

2) Make Way For Ducklings

3) Pierre

4) Little Bear

5) Big Sister and Little Sister

6) The Hungry Catepillar

7) Madeline

8) A Snowy Day

9) Miss Viola Swamp

10) The Strange Story of the Frog that Became a Prince

11) Alligators All Around

12) Tikki Tikki Tembo

13) The Little Engine That Could

Have I have listed one of your favorites?? Let me know...

If you would like to check out other Thursday 13's...have at it by clicking here!!!

A lot of these I have been reading to my kids lately. I was a big fan of the Ramona series, Where the Wild Things Are, but my biggest favorite and still is, The Giving Tree. My nine year has loved Green Eggs and Ham since he was two. The baby's favorite book right now is "Good Night Moon". The entire family has memorized Good Night Moon.

Methinks writing your posts whenever YOU have time can't be cheating ... so lighten up will ya? I love your list ... and might add a few from my years as a teacher ... in fact as I type this comment I'm reminded my very first T-13 was something similar so I took a moment to look it up: Authors and Books Worth Sharing with Kids ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

I don't remember any particular book from when I was a young child but at about age ten I fell in love with a book called Peachtree Lane but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere after 40 years, lol.

My TT this week is 13 Bits of Cocktail Napkin Wit & Wisdom art from my new store!

Happy TT!

nobody knows when you are writing your posts ! When I get up, you still sleep, we all have different times. I always prepare my posts one day before and schedule them !
I can't say anything about the books because I know none of them. English is not my mothertongue.

2, 6, 7 and 8 were on my kids' bookshelf among some of their favorites. I had Hungry Catepillar memorized. We were just talking about favorite stories yesterday.
